The city of Västerås has removed the personal letter from the application process. We do this to achieve a better and fairer recruitment process. When you submit your application, you will be asked to answer a number of questions that will become an important part of our selection work.

Your tasks

You will have a meaningful and active job where you help our customers with personal care and assistance according to their individual needs. This includes supporting and helping with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, household chores, and meals. You will manage medications when delegated, document, and report performed actions. An important part of your work is to create a safe and positive environment for the individuals you support and contribute to social interaction.

Here, you are an important part of a team that works to ensure our customers have a good quality of life. You take responsibility for your tasks and always have a good attitude regardless of who you meet. You thrive in a varied work environment and are good at listening to our customers' needs and easily adapt to changing conditions.

Your qualifications

To work as a substitute, you need to be 18 years or older. To meet our customers and document your work, you must be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written. You are accustomed to using a computer and mobile phone. It is an advantage if you have started or completed training as a nursing assistant or childcare worker. Perhaps you are studying another suitable education, such as nursing, physiotherapy, or behavioral science. It is certainly a plus if you have experience working in care and nursing, but it is not a requirement.

With us, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in elderly care or in services for individuals with disabilities according to LSS and social psychiatry.

Practical information

• We work during the day, evening, weekends, or nights.
• Please submit your application as soon as you can. Interviews are conducted continuously throughout the application period, and we strive to get back to you as soon as possible.
• If you proceed in the recruitment process, it is mandatory to submit a video interview where you answer a short number of interview questions.
• If you are a trained nursing assistant and have proof of a protected professional title, you can attach it to your application.
• If you have been employed by the city of Västerås in the past year, we will always take a reference from your last manager.
• If you become a candidate for employment, you will need to show your extract from the criminal record.
